Terms and Conditions

Access to the BuildSteel Web Site (“Site”) is provided to you subject to the following terms and conditions which may be updated by the Steel Framing Industry Association  and its business units, subsidiaries and affiliated entities (collectively referred to herein as “SFIA”) from time to time (“Terms and Conditions”). In addition, use of certain areas of the Site is subject to additional conditions or rules applicable to such areas and those conditions or rules are hereby incorporated by reference. The Terms and Conditions are a legally enforceable agreement with the respect to your use of the Site, subject to SFIA’s right to make modifications at any time as described below. By using this Site, you accept and agree to be bound by the Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree to the Terms and Conditions, you should not use this Site.

  1. Purpose of Site
    SFIA maintains this Site as a source of information about cold-formed steel framing for those who may choose to access this Site (“users”).
  2. Right to Change or Modify Terms
    SFIA reserves the right, at its sole discretion, at any time, to change the Terms and Conditions. You should review this agreement periodically for any changes to the Terms and Conditions which shall be effective upon posting. By using the Site after changes to the Terms and Conditions have been posted, you agree to accept the changes and abide by them whether or not you have reviewed them.
  3. Use of Site Content
    The Site contains information, text, graphics, software, and other content (the “Site Content”). The Site Content is protected under the copyright laws of the United States and of other countries. Unless indicated otherwise on the Site Content, you must contact us for permission for any reproduction, modification, or distribution of such Site Content. Some Site Content may have been submitted by third parties, and may be subject to more specific restrictions, as indicated on such Site Content.

    1. Can I link directly to a BuildSteel.org article in my company’s intranet, email newsletter, or on social media? Yes! Please feel free to link to any of our articles, and please give attribution to BuildSteel.org.
    2. Can I publish an excerpt of a BuildSteel.org article? Excerpts of 250 words or less can be published free of charge. Please attribute the excerpt back to the appropriate publication.
  4. Copyright Notice
    If you believe in good faith that your copyrighted work has been reproduced on the Site without authorization in a way that constitutes copyright infringement, please advise us at once.
  5. Trademarks and Logos
    ” BuildSteel” is a trademark of SFIA. SFIA trademarks may not be used or associated with any product, event or link without the prior consent of SFIA. Requests for permission to use the BuildSteel trademark should be addressed to williams@steelframingassociation.org.

    THE SITE CONTENT IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE”. BUILDSTEEL DOES NOT WARRANT THE AVAILABILITY OF THE SITE NOR THE ACCURACY, COMPLETENESS, OR CURRENCY OF THE SITE CONTENT AND DOES NOT WARRANT THAT THE SITE OPERATES ERROR-FREE, NOR THAT DEFECTS, ERRORS OR OMISSIONS WILL BE CORRECTED OR THAT THE SITE IS COMPLETELY SECURE. Governing Law; Choice of Jurisdiction
This agreement and the Terms and Conditions will be interpreted and enforced in accordance with the laws of the District of Columbia, United States of America. You agree to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of the District of Columbia.
