Over the last few years there has been an emerging awareness of the term “resilience” and its importance to the built environment. From the halls of academia to the corridors of Congress, these discussions have led to changes in our thinking on sustainability and building design. This paper explores the concept of resiliency and relates it to a better understanding of the inherent properties of cold‐formed steel framing that make it a resilient material.
