India Government Plans to Use Cold-Formed Steel Framing In 919 Health Centers

Using new technology, the Indian health department is expanding its reach in rural areas. Pre-fabricated sub-health centers (also known as village centers – similar to outpatient clinics in the U.S) using cold-formed steel framing are a growing trend within India’s construction industry. The health department will construct 919 sub-centers with pre-fabricated materials (466 are already complete).

The prefabricated sub-health centers will be earthquake resistant and they are constructed in much lesser time in comparison to conventional technique of construction using bricks and cement.
